So this post has been on my mind and heart for a long time now. But to say the least, it has been a busy few months. I have been posting over on my personal and now business instagram about this venture for a little while now, but its time to explain why I chose to do it, and why now.
On my way home the other night, I found my mind wandering [as per usual], and I was thinking about how much I’ve learned about myself from blogging. But broader and more important than that, I was thinking about all the bloggers I know, admire, and have connected with in the past 4.5 years. I think we all have some very distinct qualities because we are bloggers. Maybe we had them before, and channeled them more with blogging, or maybe blogging really showcased these things for the first time. Whatever way it is, I think all bloggers in some way, are all of these five things…
Ive been brainstorming a bit this weekend, and I was [as per usual] discussing some ideas with Hannah, of So Obsessed With. We decided that we wanted to share the BEST things we’ve learned in 2016 with you! And then it ONLY seemed right to choose six. So we bring you, Six In 16, The Best Things I’ve Learned This Year. This year was one of the most important of my life, and most memorable as well. And the kicker: it isn’t even over yet! So maybe in December you’ll see a top 12, but for now, I bring you the top six things I’ve learned in twenty sixteen!
As many of you know, I am getting married in… t minus six weeks. Jon and I had a relatively short engagement [since the trend seems to be taking people towards longer engagements]. Our total is 4 days less than 13 months. It was a totally ample amount of time to plan a wedding, especially at the size we are having. But let me tell ya… when its down to the last few months. Shit gets real. EVERYTHING piles up, and it’s all about the little things that you forgot about!
I will not lie, I am not immune to the occasional slump! Whether it is a lack of creative mojo, or life being super busy, or just no desire to sit down and type a post, let’s just admit it: SLUMPS HAPPEN! I am here to HOPEFULLY help guide you through them with some tips I personally have used. I can’t say they are fool proof, but I can say that unless blogging is a job for you, you need not worry! Hopefully you find something here to help you!
I am SO EXCITED about this post! As many of you actually don’t know, I am YouTube obsessed. I subscribe to over 60 channels, many being beauty/lifestyle gurus. My favorite videos to watch? What’s in my bag, and of course, what’s in my beach bag! So, after watching 100’s over the last few years, I decided to do this post for you guys! And, at the end, if you make it there, of course, there is a beach read giveaway! SO, if you like free books, I suggest you scroll on down!
Every couple has a story. Love stories are my favorite stories. I love hearing how people met, how they fell in love, and how they came to be as a unit, a couple, a form of proof that life is better when you’ve met your match. And so today, I will share mine and Jon’s story with you. Here’s a HINT: it is nothing crazy! But, it started with two mere strangers and ended with two people who depend on one another, appreciate each other, and love each other more than words can ever say. And so, let’s hop to!
This discussion is stemming from an absolutely WONDERFUL book I read this past week, which is Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave. It comes out this summer, and you MUST pick it up! I won’t spoil anything about the novel, but I WILL tell you that at one point they discuss that sometimes you rush to grow up, you choose what you think is the right path, but you are really just doing it to be done with worrying, to rush growing up. In doing this, sometimes, you make the wrong choice. I admit, I did this. For my full time job, I in no way do what I love. Sometimes, we can’t. But, there is always a way to compensate. Here we talk about some of those ways!
I am a big fan of when discussion comes up randomly in conversation with friends. You know, the kind where they realize something that has changed about your life, or habits, or anything, and you sit there, listening, and then you’re like… WOW. You’re so right! I didn’t realize it has been that much of a change! Ok. You know what I’m talking about. The outside perspective telling YOU something you’re too close to realize. Ok. Well, that is what happened when I was on the phone with one of my best friends, Hannah the other day. She began telling me how much my reading has changed and I mean “really when is the last time you read a print book?” I had to check my Goodreads for the record. The answer? It shocked even me. So now, I am here to tell you why my reading has changed so much over the past year, and why I feel it has happened. And I will even tell you if I am happy about it or not!
Okay, so I am quite well aware that not everyone knows exactly what a CSA is. I am here to first, inform you, and then explain to you why this is something I’m contemplating doing for the second half of 2015!
