this dish: on being a morning person

As some of you may know, for as long as I can remember, I’ve always been THAT person, the one up at 7am even on a Saturday and I am relatively unphased.  So I am going to talk to you today about WHY I love being up so early, and some things it means for the rest of my day!

The Dish: What Being A Blogger Says About You

What Being A Blogger Says About You

On my way home the other night, I found my mind wandering [as per usual], and I was thinking about how much I’ve learned about myself from blogging.  But broader and more important than that, I was thinking about all the bloggers I know, admire, and have connected with in the past 4.5 years.  I think we all have some very distinct qualities because we are bloggers.  Maybe we had them before, and channeled them more with blogging, or maybe blogging really showcased these things for the first time.  Whatever way it is, I think all bloggers in some way, are all of these five things…

From Miss to Mrs.

thecasseroledishfeature2

So.. its been a while, yes?  Do you even remember me? Let’s hope so!  I promise to be here a LOT more now! Because I have some time on my hands.  Because why? Well, let me tell ya! One HUGE thing has changed since the last time I posted, I bet you all know what it is… I’ve gone From Miss to Mrs.. aka…

I’m MARRIED!

I posted a few months back about wedding stress and planning and how to move past it all, which was all true, and you got to hear how stressful it can truly be. But I have to say, every once of stress, every misstep, every tiny issue, it was ALL worth it.

Jon and I had the most perfect day imaginable. We still sit back and think “I want to go back to our wedding day.”  The entire day was so perfect for us.  And it was more whimsical and more captivating than my “dream wedding” vision.  It was representative of me, Jon, our style, and our love, and it was the most wonderful day of our lives.

Each detail was so elegantly handled [my mother is a TRUE saint and had my vision at the forefront in helping me].  All in all, the day was unbelievably magical, and at the heart of it all, I got to marry the person I love more than life itself.  So, let’s get down to it shall we?

What good is this post without pictures, AMIRIGHT?

The Dish: On Planning A Wedding and Having A Life

As many of you know, I am getting married in… t minus six weeks.  Jon and I had a relatively short engagement [since the trend seems to be taking people towards longer engagements].  Our total is 4 days less than 13 months.  It was a totally ample amount of time to plan a wedding, especially at the size we are having.  But let me tell ya… when its down to the last few months.  Shit gets real.  EVERYTHING piles up, and it’s all about the little things that you forgot about!

The Dish: Learning to Simplify

thecasseroledishfeature2The Dish: Learning to Simplify

This post all about The Dish: Learning to Simplify would not have been written if not for the wonderful and inspiring, Emily Ley, who emphasizes simplifying in her business and personal life.  She has been doing a new year challenge, and it inspired me to think about my life, my home, and what I’d like to simplify in 2016.  So I sectioned it out into four/five sections: books, kitchen, periodicals, closet and basement.
